Good evening!!! I hope everyone is doing well. I know I have been MIA. If you have read my last post about change (which I am not good with.) It's been a long and also oddly quick 4 months now and I am still not 100%. I write in my notes everyday to keep up with my 'crazy non stop always changing' mind.
just when I think I have all of my story together, something comes adds to the list. *rolls eyes*
I wanted to take this time to let everyone know that May is Mental Health Awareness Month. It took me all day to tuck myself into writing this post. Today as I was trying to talk myself into getting motivation to write I started to think about other people in this world who struggle and juggle their emotions, thoughts, and feelings differently too, than other humans may juggle. Everyone is different and it is always important to think about others IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS. BUT always always always ALWAYS put YOURSELF FIRST. Always.
I would like everyone reading this to take 5 minutes out of their day to think about someone they know who juggles with a mental illness. Mental Illness: Clinical Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, BPD, Dementia, Autism, PTSD, Schizophrenia, OCD, ADD, ADHD.... any mental illness a friend, family member, co worker, or neighbor that you know suffers from. Just 5 minutes to put yourself in hers/his shoe. Think about the person you would want near you if you were depressed, or had PTSD. Reach out to these people... and you really don't need to mention their illness, at all. Just a simple, "How is your day going?" or "Thinking about you.", "Hope you enjoy your day!", any small gesture changes that persons mood and gives them one more positive stepping stone, which is huge for said person.
I have been off social media for a whole month now. I like to take social media brakes. It takes a lot out of me to even decide that and to actually stay off. Like I said last post, I am going through a lot of changes right now, and social media just isn't helping that change. I can honestly say I am doing better than I was doing 4 months ago. I am still healing and I know I'll have my bad days, but right now there has been a lot more better days, so I am grateful and looking forward. It is important to keep doing the things that make you happy and give your soul that extra serotonin! So for all my mental health people do me and yourself a favor and dedicate this whole month to your mental health!!!! Talk to your therapist (I know it is hard sometimes and we rather not some days), take your medicine ON TIME, eat your favorite meal, save your money!!!! But also yes, buy those new shoes and some ice coffee, take a hike somewhere, paint, color, draw, ride your bike, take a ride, I'm telling you... the gym HELPS, whatever it is that makes that serotonin spring into action DO IT!!!!
I believe in those who believe that there WILL be better days ahead. shit. It may take its sweet fucking time (because I sure as shit am waiting for more) but I believe. So you should to!
Happy Mental Health Awareness Month peeps!
